Creative Work

Since starting my PhD graduate work, I haven’t had quite as much time for creative pursuits. Below are examples of a mix of my creative things, old and new.

Cat Photography

This is a newfound creative pursuit and more about the fun of spotting street cats than skilled portraiture. For Spring Break of 2026, I visited Morocco and stayed in Marrakech, a city famous for its street cats. I just couldn’t stop snapping pictures of them and then tried my hand at vibe coding to make a website of the over 200 photos I took of the street cats of Marrakech.

Creative Writing

I’ve dabbled with a handful of creative forms, but year after year I keep coming back to creative writing. My favorite genre for writing is speculative fiction although I did try my hand at historical fiction once. Below are some of my currently available creative pieces.

Other Artsy Things

I occasionally dabble in other art forms, such as 3D-printed sculpture, photography, paper arts, and just a little textile weaving.
